Tilak Varma: From Struggles to Star

Tilak Varma’s journey to becoming a star in Indian cricket shows how hard work and patience pay off. He started playing professional cricket at a very young age, debuting for Ranji at just 16. Though he made the India U19 World Cup team in 2020, he didn’t do as well as others, but Mumbai Indians (MI) scouts noticed his talent and decided to give him a chance. Despite facing setbacks in trials, Varma worked hard and proved himself.

At 22, Varma made a big mark by scoring 107* in a T20I match against South Africa, becoming the second youngest Indian to score a T20I century. His early life was tough, and he didn’t have much money, but he always dreamed of playing big cricket. His success in the IPL helped him learn and improve his game, and he became more aware of what to do in different situations.

In his recent match, Varma asked his captain, Surya Kumar Yadav, to bat at No. 3, and he made the most of it by playing a great innings. This performance showed that he had grown as a player. After missing a few series due to injury, Varma was determined to make his comeback count and prove that his time had come.
